 Hamlet Scene Design

The artist of Skaespeare's Hamlet scene design uses contrast and its surrealistic style to grab the observer's eye and draw it around the artwork. in using these techniques, the observer is mystified and drawn futher into the art.

The style of the artwork is surrealistic. when you first look at the picture, you see a castle, with a tree line, and the sun shining down on the door to the castle. if you take a close look to the castle, you see an eye. Upon a close inspection, you might see a face. Although I have never read Hamlet, I am guessing this holds significance to the play.

The extreme contrast of the light blue and dark green against the white also draws the viewer's eye in. The blues and greens create a calming reaction normally. In this piece of art the contrast of these darks and lights case an uneasy feeling, where you can no longer tell the difference between what is real and what is not.

The surrealistic nature and the contrast in colors in this depiction of Shakespeare's Hamlet scene design grabs the viewer's eye and carries it across the work.
